Permission denied on fedora

Forums

Trying to set up a virtualhere server on my Fedora 38 machine. Used the script on the linux page for the server. When the script finished or I do sudo systemctl start virtualhere.service I get the following errors:

virtualhere.service: Failed to locate executable /usr/local/sbin/vhusbdx86_64: Permission denied

virtualhere.service: Failed at step EXEC spawning /usr/local/sbin/vhusbdx86_64: Permission denied

Qnap 251A + UPS and client mac version

Forums

Hello, I have installed VirtualHere on my QNAP 251A to be able to share the USB of my UPS over the network, but the VirtualHere client for Mac sees the QNAP HUB, but does not detect the port. The UPS is easily detected by the QNAP and is able to communicate. I tried to insert it on the front port,  and on VirtualHere nothing changes, it still does not see it. If I insert a USB stick, the VirtualHere client sees it easily. I read in another post about a beta client version for Windows, to another user with a similar problem and it seems that he has solved.

iLok Sharing Error

Forums

Hi Michael,

I'm having that issue with iLok sharing.

Is there anything I can do without having to VNC into my Raspberry Pi4 and rebooting it every time I want to use iLok on another machine?

It has worked previously, but not for a while now. However, my Waves licence key (USB dongle too) does work.

Regards,

Matt

Issue with virtualhere + stream via steam + racing wheel

Forums

Hello,

I'm trying to setup my racing wheel to work in another room as my main computer.

To do so, I'm streaming my Steam game from my main gaming desktop computer to a low end laptop connected to the racing wheel.

The racing wheel don't seem to work in game. The racing wheel is displayed as "In use by you" in the virtualHere client but the inputs are apparently not recognized.

I have tried with both the PS4-PS5 mode and PC mode.

VirtualHere Client 5.5.5 on Windows 11 error "Sorry disks cannot be redirected...on a WD myCloud NAS..."

Forums

Hi, I am using Virtual Here Client trial on a Windows 11 machine with WD MyCloud EX2 ultra NAS. The client sees correctly the USB hub and the attached usb drive but it fails to connect and to redirect with the following two messages: - "Sorry disk cannot be redirected via VirtualHere on a WD MyCloud NAS (192.168.1.112:7575)" - "There was a error using this device." I've tried different usb drives (pendrive, ssd, etc.) but I always get the same message. Thanks for your help.

Commands seem to cut out after a few minutes (Win11 PC, Pi4, G29 wheel)

Forums

Hi, I am using virtualhere server on a Raspberry Pi4 and the client on my Windows 11 PC and it works great.....for a few minutes, then the server appears to stop sending input commands to the client and it no longer works. The virtualhere client on the windows 11 PC still shows the Pi as a server and still shows the G29 wheel as 'in use'. To get it going again, I have to disconnect it in the virtualhere client and re-select 'use this device'.
