Support for VirtualHere hardware and software

new to VirtualHere - config question

Forums

Using a GL.iNet GL-MT300N-V2 Mini Travel Router and USB 2.0 2-Port hub, can I create a USB over IP connection to a Surface Pro tablet for two USB devices? One device is a common GPS unit, the other is a sensor that provides USB data to proprietary software package. Both USB devices communicate with the proprietary software. The USB over IP connection is a peer-to-peer (AdHoc) WiFi, no Internet access.

Clients now report a valid licence as invalid

Forums

I have the generic linux64 Virtualhere server (3.6.7) installed on a linux server running OpenMediaVault 4.1.9. The VH server is licensed for 3 devices and 3 devices are attached.
Today the server was updated. The only update was to Linux kernel 4.17.0-0.bpo.1-amd64.
Coincidentally, snce then all clients (4.5.4) report that my licence is "invalid". The VH server and attached devices are displayed in the client.
Trying to connect a single USB device generates a "trial expired" message from the VH client even though this is a generic VH server build.

Using the onServerRename event

Forums

I wanted to make sure the device hostname matched the name set in the VirtualHere GUI so I have attempted to make a script to update the underlying OpenWRT using the uci command.

I find that when a server rename is done from the client GUI the script does run, and does update the OS hostname, but the server rename itself no longer happens.

Is there something I am missing? Does the script need to return a specific value before the config.ini will get updated?

The line added to config.ini is:

Request: USB Ethernet support for CloudHub on Raspberry Pi Zero W

Forums

Hello All

We have an application for the VirtualHere server that using the Raspberry Pi Zero W that requires ethernet, but also requires easy setup such as CloudHub provides.

Re already have done some testing using DietPI and the regular VirtualHere server, but the "ssh-in and do X, Y, then Z" instructions for setting an IP are alas not quite easy enough for the techs who are intended to install these things. The CloudHub firmware is great for that, but by default it does not have support for USB Ethernet.

Can't get client to recognize TPCast hub

Forums

This was working fine a few months ago. now it simply won't find the TPCast hub.

it finds the windows hub and keeps trying to connect to the TPCast hub but never seems to because it says the license has been exceeded. I had purchased a valid license for TPCast and still have the key in my email.

If I right click on USB Hub and click licenses it only shows the windows hub.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Registered on new phone, "server trial has expired" on client.

Forums

I got a new android phone (pixel 2) and I used my license key from my original purchase to register the app. The server reports all is clear and says "This server is licensed, thankyou for your purchase".

However when I try to use the software the client on my windows 10 machine will say "This server trial has expired, please purchase a license to continue using."

I also one time saw a popup on the client that said the license was invalid, but I haven't been able to reproduce that popups so I cant provide the exact steps or full error quote.

Windows 10 - 1709

Forums

Hello,

We are rolling out Windows 10 (1709) throughout our organization, but we are experiencing an intermittent issue with the latest version of the VirtualHere client software. We use this on a few PCs, where they'll auto-use one remote device at the launch of the client. This works perfectly on Windows 7, but on Windows 10, we are seeing "Retrying to use device at address 30, as the previous bind failed with an error" in the log, where remote USB connections will go through a cycle of disconnecting / connecting.
