Client timeout?

Forums

Hello;

Sometimes we have users who forget to disconnect a device after their shift, and an admin will have to login to their terminal and disconnect them so someone else can access the device. Given they're mostly card readers that are only required temporarily, is there any way to implement say a 5min timeout disconnect? Or any way for a user/admin to 'kick' that connection?

SSL per device

Forums

Hello Michael,

I'm using VirtualHere mostly for license dongles* but also want to share my printer/scanner over local ethernet. Unfortunately the scan-function doesn't work, when I turn on SSL, but I don't want to share the dongles over internet without encryption/certification. Is it possible to share my printer without using SSL form the same server that I use for the dongles?
Thanks for the support :)

Best wishes,
Valentin

* which is working perfectly - I even found a workaround for the iLok2 problems :D

one direction performance problem

Forums

Hi,

I'm running a purchased virtual here usb server on a raspberry pi (B+) with two midi devices attached (that basically form a user interface with buttons, faders, leds and so on).

It works in principle but there is a huge latency introduced if I send a lot of data towards the device (host -> rpi -> device). The CPU usage for the vhusbdarm process then rises up to 50-65% and the output is delayed by (sometimes) seconds until all data its completly processed.

However, there a two interesting things:

If I buy the 3 device license, will I be able to use 2 devices on the Steam Link simultaneously?

Forums

Like the title says, I want to use an X55 Rhino with my Steam Link but I need the ability to use more than 1 USB device. If I buy a license will I be able to use more than 1 USB device on the Steam Link or would I just be wasting money? Thanks for any information.

Weird Steam Link Problem

Forums

I have used VirtualHere in my previous computer without problems to attach two RetroUSB controllers to my Steam Link. Now I bought the unlimited license and I'm trying to do the same thing on my new computer, but can't get it to work. The weird thing is that when I connect the controllers to my pc, they work fine, but when I connect them to the steam link they seem to be working as a mouse instead of a controller. VirtualHere does seem to recognise them both, but the functionality is gone as soon as I connect them to the steam link...

Bus changes number after reboot and address of device is wrong

Forums

We have 53 devices (34 usb tokens, storages + combineted 20-port hubs).

We named devices and check these names in config.ini - All are OK.
After reboot Bus 001 changes number to 007 or 002 or 006 or etc and other Bus'es change their numbers too. (it seems randomly).

Q: 1) can we froze the number of BUS (I understan - this is not issue of virtualhere :) ) or
2) use other address-systax, that doesn't depend on Bus'es number

Please share your experience of usage multiple numbers of hubs and this truble

Random disconnecting / no reconnect

Forums

We're experiencing massive troubles, using an QNAP TS-231+ as virthere server.
The NAS is connected via Netgear R7000 to a server.

The connection seems to work fine, running the virthui64.exe as a service or directly. Every one in a while, sometimes when the router reconnects the WAN, sometimes with no reproducible situation, the VirtualHere client looses connection. Most of the time it will regain connection, as soon as possible, but then the USB devices aren't recognized in the device manager.

Status of eLicenser support

Forums

Hi there.

I'm trying to share my eLicenser dongle with VirtualHere. My client is OSX (El Capitan, 10.11.4) and as a server I use a raspberry pi2.

It seems it doesn't work. Can anyone confirm?

And could a dev tell us if VirtualHere is actively working on support for this dongle? I hope so :)

Thanks. -tezzlicious
