BIND_ERROR with virtualhere running on virtualized server

Forums

Hello!

I've been running VirtualHere more or less successfully on a virtualized debian 32bit system running on a ESXi-server with an attached USB-hub.
Sooner or later (typically 5-10 days) the USB-device (a dongle) becomes unusable and I wonder why or what can be done to keep this from happening.

Restarting the vhusbd won't help in this case, restarting the debian-system has helped one time but today for instance didn't.
Using Virtual Here with Linux Server and iPad Client

Forums

I have a unique topic that hasn't been covered in any threads yet.

I am looking to use an Intel NUC running ubuntu as a hub for barcode scanners. I plan on using the VirtualHere server to connect the barcode scanners over wifi to an application we have built for iPad.

My question is that currently there is only a client available for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android; is there any support for iPad implementation? Or is there any API available for implementation in iPad applications?

Thanks for the help!

Feature Request: keyboard shortcut for context menu in client

Forums

Hi,

I often use key shortcuts as they are simply faster. Unfortunately, in the virtual here client on windows, the context-menu shortcut Shift+F10 doesn't work in the device list.
It would be great, if this could be added.

Thanks and best regards, olli

License question

Forums

Hello,

I have a question regarding a paid license. If I were to buy it, would it allow me to use VirtualHere USB Server on any device, but with restriction of at most one device at the same time or it would be bound forever to a specific one? In case the former were true, would I have to only enter license number on single client and it would be accepted and stored by the sever, so that other client wouldn't have to enter it one by one?

Kind Regards,
daemonical

Server won't start on Ubuntu

Forums

Hello, I've just setup a new Ubuntu 14.04 server and installed VH (vhusbdx86_64 v2.6.2), but it won't start either in foreground, background or at startup. Syslog shows:

>>> Starting v2.6.2 (Built: Nov 26 2015, 20:49:28)<<<
Using configuration /usr/sbin/config.ini
Server licensed to=unlicensed max_devices=1
Using large URB's
TCPServer starting...
Error starting server
>>> Shutdown <<<

This is all within the space of a second.

That config.ini file only contains:

It=1448587352

Use of VirtualHere with PI and Audio Interface

Forums

Hello

I have a licensed copy of the server running on a Raspberry PI (not v2). It is connected to a USB hub and into that are a USB<->RS232 interface. This is connected to my Ham Radio Transceiver. This is working fine.

I also wish to share the audio interface attached to my transceiver. This is a Signalink USB Audio Codec. When I plug it into a PC and look at its properties I can see the following: USB\VID_08BB&PID_2904&REV_0100&MI_00; USB\VID_08BB&PID_2904&MI_00

Feature request: show NETBIOS pc name as well as user name in addition to client IP

Forums

Michael,

It would be nice and useful to show in client not only the IP address of the client who is using the device but also the NETBIOS name and client username (if possible)

For example: 10.10.10.100 (username@DOMAIN at PCNAME)
Now it's quite hard to find out who is using the device especially when PCs get their IPs by DHCP and users are sitting in different rooms)

Mac Client v3.0.9 doesn't report available update

Forums

I just wanted to report a bug: I noticed that my Mac Client still has v3.0.9. If I open up the Client Window and click on "Check for Updates" in the right-click Context-Menu, it keeps on saying "You have the latest version of the client". I guess that's not intended when v3.2.5 is available via the VH Website?
