I'm attaching a MCE infrared transceiver to my raspberry and from the client software it shows up and I can click to use it. But in Windows device manager the device gets a yellow exclamation mark (device cannot start). If I plug it in to the PC directly it works fine. Is there something that needs to be done in the raspberry to get it working? any drivers that needs to be installed?

I just try VirtualHere on my Qnap TS-419P (QTS 4.1 RC3).
When I plug an USB key or printer device on the Qnap, I get an alert : [virtualhere] Failed to read '/sys/devices/virtual/bdi/0:15/uevent', Resource temporarily unavailable

Any idea ?

i'm trying to use VirtualHere to share audio from a kinect which i have connected to a raspberry, i have understood that i could not share the webcam part using the raspberry but i only need audio for now.

I have installed the server on the raspberry and run it without too much problem, i have installed the client on a windows computer, i can see the server and use the "Kinect USB Audio" remote device.

I'm having problems with serial to usb converter, using the Prolific drive. When I activate the device it reboots the PC.

My settings:

Server: Raspberry PI
Client: Windows
Converter: ComTac

Is there a solution to this problem?

I have an anti-theft device for the home that you can 'program in usb. when I connect directly to my pc sees the com port 10. when I connect it here on the virtual client sees him as the communication port but the pc (windows 8.1) does not see it.
I also updated the rasp but nothing happens.
all these tests I performed with and without the specific driver installed.

I'm roaming the internet for possible ways to connect a USB keyboard, mouse and MIDI keyboard (M-Audio KeyRig 49) to a computer about 30 kilometers away. At the computer, a student will be working, and the screen of the computer will be shared over optical fiber to my location (I'm a teacher).

Will VirtualHere enable me to connect the keyboard, mouse and MIDI keyboard from my location to the students computer, allowing me to remotely control the computer? I'll have a Raspberry PI at my location running the server software.

after I set up my raspberry pi with the USB server and my MBP (OSX 10.9.2) with the USB client software, neither my Nikon D300 nor any USB stick is going to be recognized in the Finder.

When clicking in the virtualhere client interface on device - properties, the attached device is correctly recognized, e.g.:
Vendor: USB
Product: Disk
Vendor ID: 0x0000
Product ID: 0x0000
Hub: 0011
Port: 0003

I have an Ubuntu laptop with three seven port hubs attached.

I want to rename all of the USB dongles, but when I try to rename USB device number 15 the server crashes and is unable to start(unable to read config file).

Is there an upper limit to the number of devices you can rename?
