Users other than the first user to login are unable to access devices through VirtualHere when running as a Service

Forums

We have a powerful workstation that multiple users login to remotely to do their work. We are aware that VirtualHere is unable to share the same device to multiple users at the same time. This post is not about simultaneous use. We planned to take turns when the USB device is needed. We have VirtualHere running as a service under LocalSystem and using a config file next to the exe located on the root of C:\. The first user to log into the system can access the service using the client and use the USB device without issue.

Ubuntu Server Xbox Wireless Dongle Problem

Forums

Hi all,

I just got a micro PC and set it up for Ubuntu so that I can use it as a hub for behind my TV to do things like Virtual Here (I am tying to move away from my Android box version since it forgets license every restart).

I ran the script and VH runs well across my LAN network, with setting persistent after each reboot of the device. Almost all devices work as expected.

QNAP audio "Jabra Link 380" interrupted or cracking

Forums

Hi,

I use a Logitech 930e webcam, USB audio card and a Jabra Link 380 with Jabra Evolve 2 75 headset on a QNAP TS253be with 16GB Ram.

All devices work great except the Jabra Link 380 as I have the idea when something else is taking some CPU resources the audio begins to stutter/Cracking.

Audio and vide from the webcam are ok and also the USB soundcard. I use the device in a Hyper-V image.

Is there something I can do to have less stutter/cracking audio in the Virtual Here server setiings or client? Or things I can change on the QNAP like CPU priority?

Can't connect iPhone to Android Device

Forums

I am trying to connect an iPhone though USB to my Android phone in order to use it remotely on my Mac. The iPhone is listed on the server. I can see it listed when I try to add ignored devices. I am not ignoring it though, I just verified that the server recognizes it.

However it does not appear on the client. It only appear once for a brief amount of time and then no matter what I tried it does not appear again.

I also tried on Shield TV with same results.

Immediate disconnection upon connection with "Error 22 discarding urb", windows to pi

Forums

Hi,

I'm testing out VirtualHere to connect to audio gear remotely for setup purposes. No audio is transferred over USB only configuration, so the issues I'm having shouldn't be bandwith related.

The client is running windows and the server is on a Raspberry pi 3b+

Upon connection, I get a disconnection with the following logs.

USB Licensing Dongle not passing through (Windows Server -> Win11 for Workstations)

Forums

I have an audio workstation PC, a video editing rig, and a file server. I'm trying to virtualize my software activation dongles because I'm constantly having to move them around and it's REALLY annoying. Anyway, I activated a bunch of software plugin licenses to a spare USB dongle passed through via VirtualHere. Now, that software will ONLY recognize that USB dongle when it's passed through. If it's plugged in directly, it sees it as a USB dongle with a bunch of invalid software licenses.
