I am running USB Server on RasPi2 and Client part on Ubuntu Mate 15.04 64-bit (with latest updates). I have an old (purchased about 10 years ago, no docs, no nothing) USB audio adapter that normally is plugged into Ubuntu host as the main audio device.
I played with USB Server running on Pi2 with USB keypad (wireless keyboard + touchpad with USB dongle) attached and it worked like a charm. I used GUI Linux client running on Ubuntu with root privilege and was able to use that USB keypad to control Ubuntu desktop.
When I start the client with -c parameter and relative path:
vhui64.exe -c .\vhui.conf
it looks for config in %username%AppData\Roaming instead of the folder where the clients starts from
It would be useful to have ability to group devices and pass to auth script group id instead of full devices characteristics
(if there is no plan to implement full featured users/devices control functionality this simple feature will cover most possible tasks)
Client is too heavy (8Mb) now and when using it in a slow (wireless) networks running from share it takes quite long time to start up
It would be nice to add a password protection when one tries to use a remote device
It would be very useful to have an ability to give user permissions even before it connects to USB device:
For example:
- show only permitted USB devices (this is the most desired option for me)
- restrict user rights (disable all Auto-Use options, Properties, Rename, etc)
- become an admin without using /admin key (or restrict admin access even the user specifies /admin key)
It looks like a user management functionality. Very strange that such nice peace of software doesn't have it already.
Setting up a new RaspberryPi 2 and I can't use any device.
Each Time I got the message:
This server trial has expired, please purchase a license to continue using.
I got a SIG 11 while stopping the server.
The process history was that I plugged and unplugged some USB devices and while shut dow nthe server application with + I got he Segmentation fault message
