usb camera not working (discard urb errors)

Forums

Hi,
first of all, thx a lot for your nice work.

i'm trying to get an usb camera to work with virtualhere but i keep getting some errors.
i'm running vh server on my ubuntu desktop (x64), and the client on windows 7 x64 in a vmware guest on the same host.

the general config looks fine, i can get a flashdrive to work properly and get around 4MB/s transfer speed when reading from the flashdrive through your win7 client.

Bind to a specific IP/interface

Forums

I have a registered server running on a R-Pi, and have been using it with WIndows clients. The Pi has two IP addresses, one private, one public, with a default route via a VPN tunnel (to service the public IP). My application has been control of devices over serial links. I have been impressed with VirtualHere, though I did notice a slight delay to responses to commands and put it down to the practicalities of getting USB over a network. However, I did notice when using the console client that it was connecting to the public IP of the server.

Trial Version Device Limit

Forums

Hello again,

Does VirtualHere's 1-device-limit apply to the number of logical devices exposed, or the number of physical devices exposed? In further attempts to get a FUNCubeDonglePro+ to work through VirtualHere, which involves the single physical device exposing a HID and a sound input, I seem to be only able to get control of one or the other:

When I am streaming audio, I lose contact from the HID. When I stop the audio, the HID comes back. When I select the FUNCube in the client app, it is listed as a single device named "FUNCube Dongle Pro Plus."

api feedback

Forums

I would like to automate my VirtualHere client. For that I need feedback if adding a device to a client worked or not. I wasn't able to find out if that is possible with the command line api (windows). Do I need to run the client as a service?

Thanks for your help.

VirtualHere server doesn't work

Forums

Hello!

I tried to use VirtualHere server on two rather old routers, and both times without result.

First router is D-Link DIR-620 Rev.A1 (Ralink RT3052F@384MHz) with OpenWrt, the second is D-Link DIR-320 Rev.A1 (Broadcom BCM5354KFBG) with Vampik firmware from wl500g.info.

As I guessed, I should use vhusbdmipsel on these routers.
On DIR-620, when I start the server, it just hangs (even when I start it with –h key). The only log record is:
FPU emulator disabled, make sure your toolchain was compiled with software floating point support (soft-float)

I can't see server

Forums

I have installed the virtual here server on my raspberry pi B+. Before doing so, I upgraded the firmware as advised by the FAQ. The network name is sdr-server.

It appears to be running -- have the message, VirtualHere USB Server is running . . press ^C to stop.

I have installed the 64 bit client on my Windows 7 64-bit laptop. It appears to be running.

I can successfully ping the Raspberry Pi from the laptop. so network connectivity appears good.

Trouble with the usb server over the Internet

Forums

Hi!

I'm testing the usb server (trial) and it works good in LAN. However the situation changes in the Internet. Disk is mounted slowly (3-10 minutes) and usb disk becomes inaccessible even from host after some writing. Parted shows - Error opening /dev/sdc: No medium found. Only formatting of the disk helps.

I use ubuntu 12.04.3 as server, clients are different - Ubuntu 14.04, Windows 7(x64), Windows XP.
Configuration is default on clients.
I tried both values for TCPNoDelay on the server with the same effect.

Regards,
Sergey

MacOS Client & Keyboards

Forums

When connecting a mouse & keyboard using a VirtualHere (VH) server, with a MacOS client, the MacBook doesn't appear to recognize VH connected keyboards the same way as-if they were physically attached.

In particular:
1) In "System Preferences", under "Keyboard". Physically plugging a USB keyboard into a client results in the "Change Keyboard Type" button appearing, wheres a VH-connected keyboard does not activate this option.
