virtualhere on qnap ts 119

Forums

Hi,

I'm trying virtual here on my qnap nas. It doesn't show up... when looking the /tmp/vhusbd.txt, it shows this message :

/share/HDA_DATA/.qpkg/VirtualHere/vhusbdq: error while loading shared libraries: libdbus-1.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Tue Sep 9 21:54:05 CEST 2014 Failed to start

It is described as enabled on the qpkg page... How can I solve the problem? Thanks.

Errors In Log

Forums

I don't remember seeing these errors in the log before I upgraded to the latest version.
Not sure what this one means?
1) Sep 9 00:17:24 raspberrypi vhusbdpin: Cannot open device product file, No such file or directory
Loosing data doesn't sound good
2) Sep 9 00:52:57 raspberrypi kernel: [ 404.899508] Transfer to device 9 endpoint 0x1 frame 971 failed - FIQ reported NYET. Data may have been lost.

[android/bug] sharing hotplugged USB

Forums

Hi,

Today I stared to play with USB over IP as I needed to scan something when having only Android device and scanner (wthout support for android). I managed to scan document using windows on remote machine, and well USB Server/Client its great piece of software. But I found bug that might cause me problems in future. USB Device (or at least USB OTG cable) that I want to share must be connected to Android before starting USB server.

USB sound card not recognized

Forums

Hello,

I'm trying to use a USB sound card with Virtualhere but I can't seem to make it work. Everything works fine with other USB devices (thumbdrives, mouse, ...), but the USB sound card does not work.

Here is my setup:

- Server: Raspberry Pi B running the latest Raspbian
- Client: Windows 7 x64 machine
- when plugged directly on Windows the USB sound card works great and is recognized as "USB PnP Sound Device"

Processor Load OSX 10.10

Forums

I'm running Virtualhereclient on a W8.1 computer and a macBook running OSX 10.10. On both computers it is installed as a service.
On the W8.1 computer everything is running fine and nice.
On mac OS/X 10.10 it takes all CPU-performance of 1 core (sometimes even more according to top). The proces never sleeps, and since installing the day before yesterday, batterylifetime decreases with over 60%. (my macbook is really feeling hot on my legs)

Switch auto use and auto find off does not affect the cpu usage. How to make this tool usable for my macbook?

using virtualhere in an ltsp environment

Forums

Not sure if this has been brought up before or not. I'm considering moving to use an LTSP server whereby each Raspberry Pi connects into the LTSP server to remote into a Windows (VDI) desktop. My plan was to have the Virtualhere client running in the Windows image to allow a USB device connected to the Pi to be seen in the Windows VDI image. Not even sure this is doable since I would have to ensure that the LTSP desktop sees the USB connected to the Raspberry Pi.

3G Modem - Error

Forums

Hi,

I am trying to get a 3G USB Modem to work using VirtualHere for sending Text Messages from a Window 2008 Virtual Machine.

It successfully installs the drivers and connects, however when trying to send a text message, I just get "Unknown Error" response.

This has successfully worked using a Silex USB SX-3000GB Server.

Modem: Huawei Mobile Connect (0x12D1 0x1003)

Does the debug show any logs when using the device? or only connect/disconnect.

Cheers,
Jeremy

Client install fails on my MacOSX v10.8.5

Forums

Hi,

I cannot install the client build drivers from 22 Aug on my Mac OSX box.
Its finding my Raspi Hub okay but then driver installation fails when clicking the usb device.

Heres the relevant console log entries. Seems something like kernel header issue on the build process maybe?
Also tried rebooting and installing again as recommended multiple times but same error all the way.

Any Idea what I could try?
