Wrong random Product/Vendor IDs

Forums

I have a QNAP NAS (412, ARM based) and a Mac OS 10.9.3. Using VirtualHere I can connect devices (WesternDigital external USB drives in my case), but Mac fails to recognise them.

I observed that in the system log the very same usb device changes its Product and Vendor IDs every time I start/stop using it with VirtualHere's client. What can be the problem?

Installation on Dlink DNS-320

Forums

Hi, I have a Dlink DNS-320 with FFP 0.7.
I tried to execute Virtualhere but in every Arm version that I have tried there are missing library and the software doesn't starts.

I tried "Netgear ReadyNas 102, 104, 2120" and this is the error:
/mnt/HD/HD_a2/VirtualhereReadyNas/vhusbd: error while loading shared libraries: libavahi-client.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Linux client problem

Forums

Hi,

Virtualhere is so close to being the perfect solution to sharing my multifunctional printer across my home network, but I do have an issue with running the linux client.

I have the VirtualHere USB Server running on my ReadyNAS102 and I am running the client software on an Ubuntu 14.04 desktop machine (I have other windows clients too in which I don't have the same issue).

Possibly strange device

Forums

I am trying to connect a USB-device (one of these Trimble S6) using VirtualHere on a Raspberry Pi (the version with the mounting holes). The device appears on the Windows 7 64-bit client and the driver is successfully loaded, but I am unable to communicate with the device. It does not show up in any of my regular applications.

I have successfully connected a regular thumb drive and transferred files to it and also a Logitech webcam.

100% CPU after interrupted connection

Forums

Hi Michael, i use the Virtualhere server on my OpenWrt RT3xxx router. Sometimes my Wifi connection is not that stable and connection from the client gets interrupted.
When it connects again it will show "in use by ...". Off course i can disconnect the user in the --admin mode of the client, but the CPU of the server is already at 100% (permanent!), making the Wifi very slow and connection almost impossible.

Wouldn't it be better to just disconnect the user at the server when the TCP/IP-connection gets interrupted ? Or maybe there is another solution for this problem?

Using printer with ReadyNAS 104

Forums

Hi there. I'm trying to get my HP Photosmart C4680 printer to work with my ReadyNAS 104 system but not having much success.

I have installed the app on the NAS (VirtualHere USB server v 1.8.4) , as well as the client on my machine (client v 2.3.4 on a mac running Mavericks OSX 10.9.2).
The client recognises that the printer is connected to the NAS and I've double clicked it on the list, to install the drivers.

Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver to PC problem

Forums

Hi all (From: Pi noob)

What I'm trying to achieve is to have my Xbox 360 wireless controller connect to a wireless dongle that is attached to a USB port on the Pi.
Then to use the LAN cable connected to the Pi to send the signal to my Windows 8 x64 PC.

I am able to get the Pi + Wireless dongle + Controller talking with the following commands:
sudo dmesg | grep Xbox
sudo xboxdrv -w 0 --controller-slot 0
sudo rmmod xpad
sudo xboxdrv -w 0 --controller-slot 0

access denied

Forums

Hi,
after starting VirtualHere and trying to connect to a Samsung SCX-5x12 device I go an error:
"The VirtualHere Drivers could not be loaded. Try rebooting..."
The log says:
17:45:44 INFO :Drivers are up-to-date
17:45:44 INFO :CreateFile failed
17:45:44 ERROR :Hub failed to open error, zugriff verweigert (0x00000005)

The host is a QNAP TS-870 pro,
VirtualHere 1.8.1, unlimited devices.

Going into Details: the device is recognized correctly.

Trying to start debug mode: same error occured

MCE Remote (eHome infrared transceiver)

Forums

I'm attaching a MCE infrared transceiver to my raspberry and from the client software it shows up and I can click to use it. But in Windows device manager the device gets a yellow exclamation mark (device cannot start). If I plug it in to the PC directly it works fine. Is there something that needs to be done in the raspberry to get it working? any drivers that needs to be installed?
